If you look after a pension scheme – as a trustee (or governance committee member), sponsor or adviser – you might have heard more about responsible investment and sustainability issues over this last year.
There’s certainly been a lot more ‘noise’ and attention from regulatory bodies, legislators and interest groups. (See my timeline for a quick overview of the latest developments.)
With so many other demands and issues to tackle for pension schemes, when it comes to thinking about sustainability it’s difficult to know how to get started. Is it really an issue? How do we find the time? What about fiduciary duty? What is ‘responsible’ or ‘sustainable’ anyway? What do we do?!
If these questions sound familiar, then this is the blog for you.
